Bass Pro Shops is a retailer of fishing, hunting, camping and outdoor gear that was incorporated in 1972 by John L. Morris in Springfield, Missouri. From its feeble beginnings as a small fishing department in the back of a family owned liquor store, Bass Pro Shops found a place on the map with homemade bait and worms, which encouraged the company?s growth with the addition of a mail order catalog in 1974. In short order, the Bass Pro Shops became the world?s largest sporting goods mail order store. Today, Bass Pro Shops boasts almost 30 stores, with the largest locations referred to as Outdoor World.
The majority of applicants that interview for a position at Bass Pro Shops report a positive or neutral interview experience. Potential employees can expect a fairly straightforward interview process consisting of a one-on-one interview with a store manager, in which standard interview questions are posed. An example might include, "What would you do if you saw a fellow employee stealing?" Potential employees can apply online or in person. Management positions can expect to take a personality test and submit to a drug and background check.
