About Foot Locker

Number of Employees: 44,000+

Headquarters: 112 West 34th Street New York, New York 10120 (212) 720-3700

Foot Locker is a footwear and sportswear retailer that had its start in 1963 when the F.W. Woolworth Company bought out the Kinney Shoe Corporation. Kinney was eventually separated into specialty shoe retailers, including Stylco, Susie Casuals and, finally, Foot Locker in 1974. Most Foot Locker locations are in shopping malls, and the majority of freestanding stores were formerly Woolworth's locations. In addition to its namesake, the chain also includes Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Footaction USA, Eastbay and Champs Sports. Today, there are more than 3900 Food Locker locations the world over.

What to Expect When Interviewing

The majority of applicants that interview for a position at Foot Locker report a positive interview experience. Potential employees can expect a fairly straightforward interview process consisting of a face-to-face or group interview with a store manager in which standard interview questions are posed. An example might include a question such as, "What would you do if we were out of stock of a new and popular athletic shoe?" Management positions may be required to take a personality test, be asked to submit to a drug test and participate in a group interview. Potential employees can apply online or in person, and phone interviews are sometimes conducted.
