Johnson Controls had its start in Whitewater, Wisconsin in 1883, thanks to Warren S. Johnson. A professor at State Normal School, Mr. Johnson created the world's first electric thermostat. Working with a group of investors, the Johnson Electric Service Company was created in 1885; the company manufactured, installed and serviced automatic thermostats that worked to regulate the temperature inside of a dwelling, a completely new concept in that day. In 1974, the company became Johnson Controls. Today, it has locations on six continents and is listed on the Fortune 500.
The majority of applicants that interview for a position with Johnson Controls report a positive interview experience.
