Quiznos is a restaurant franchise that specializes in toasted submarine sandwiches. It is the second largest sub chain in North America, with Subway leading the pack. Started by Terrell Braly in 1978, Quiznos initially operated in an old Sinclair gas station under the name Sandwich World. Using a pizza oven that was already present in the building, the store's manager toyed around with toasting subs, and the business took off. Today, there are more than 4000 Quiznos locations throughout the US, Canada, Central America, Great Britain and the Middle East, with plans for further expansion in 2012.
