Subway is a restaurant franchise that sells sub sandwiches and salads. With over 35,000 locations worldwide, it is the biggest single-brand chain in the world. It is the second restaurant chain overall, coming in behind YUM! Brands, which has several different chains under its umbrella. Subway was started in 1966 by Peter Buck and Fred De Luca in New York. The most popular sandwich on the Subway menu is the BMT, which contains salami, ham and pepperoni; the name stands for "Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest."
The majority of applicants that interview for a position at Subway report a positive interview experience. Potential employees can expect a fairly straightforward interview process consisting of a face-to-face interview with a store manager, in which standard interview questions are posed. An example might include a question such as, "What is your favorite sandwich?" Those applying for managerial positions may find a more rigorous interview process that may include a panel interview or a skills test. Potential employees can apply online or in person. Applicants who are offered positions may need to complete a drug test and submit to a background check.
