Chili's, known formerly as Chili's Grill & Bar, is an American casual dining chain that was founded in 1975. Founded by Larry Lavine, Chili's is now owned by Brinker International. The initial concept, which continues today, was to offer a variety of hamburgers, in addition to a full service food and drink menu, all at reasonable prices. With its southwestern decorating scheme and Tex-Mex menu, Chili's filled a niche that was wide open in the early 80s. Today there are over 1400 Chili's locations throughout the US and Canada.
